I'm about to add a backhoe to a soon to be delivered Kubota L2500DT. I've looked at the Kubota backhoe and also the ones from Great Bend. I'd appreciate any recommendations from those who have some experience with Kubota, Kelly, and Great Bend backhoes. The Great Bend model I'm leaning towards is the 751 - but I can get the 651 for about $550 less. I'll be doing a lot of trenching (several thousand feet over time), ditch maintenance, and creating new drainage for 15 acres. Not too concerned about resale, but rather on getting the best value. I'm a recent ex-city boy wanting to make the right decision on this major toy purchase so my wife will have confidence when I want to add other toys.

As you may know, dealers will tell you a lot of different things. I was looking for loader for my L2350 and was told that Great Bend builds some equipment for Kubota. He quoted the Great Bend loader $400 cheaper than a Kubota. You might look into Bush Hog brand backhoes. I have about decided to just get a real backhoe. I can buy an old one in good shape for only a little more than the loader and backhoe would cost to fit my L2350 garden tractor. ....

Have you considered a Caddigger? I am building a b/h to mount on the three point on my JD 670. Mind you it won't have the capability of a Woods/Bush Hog b/h but I'll be able to do the kink of jobs I need to do. I think their web site is caddigger.com or some such. ....
